A renovated and expanded YMCA of McCook is coming!
Our Town. Our Y. Our Future.
We are excited to announce construction on the project will commence on March 3! Construction will take place in phases to allow operations to continue as normal as possible. Although certain amenities may be unavailable at times and we expect program locations to shift slightly, you can expect the same level of high-quality programming, customer service, and community togetherness at the McCook YMCA.
Construction Schedule - 20 Months
Phase 1
- Aquatic Center: March 2025-December 2025
- Locker-rooms: September 2025-December 2025
Phase 2
- New Gymnasium Addition: March 2025-May 2026
- West Lobby Addition: April 2025-May 2026
Phase 3
- Transition Spaces: September 2025-March 2026
Phase 4
- Existing Gym: April 2026-November 2026
- Upper Level: April 2026-November 2026
The YMCA of McCook has been serving the needs of Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas since 1926 in the areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The OUR TOWN, OUR Y, OUR FUTURE campaign includes a complete renovation and expansion of the current facility. The proposed renovations to the YMCA of McCook will create a modern, vibrant gathering place for all. The renovated YMCA will provide increased opportunities for wellness, recreation and community connection.
